Telenor Digital EdTech Hackathon Date: 21-22 October
Place: Telenor HQ, Fornebu

In Asia the small screen is not only ”first screen” but the only screen. The next billion people that are being connected to the internet will meet apps and digital services through their mobile phone.

In some of these markets the quality of education suffers, largely due to the shortage of schools and the scarcity of teachers, particularly in rural areas. How can the mobile phone help and improve the education sector in these markets? Telenor Digital decided to arrange a hackathon to find out!

The objective of this hackathon is to inspire and come up with new ideas and solutions to the problems students and teachers face.

Developers from Telenor Digital, edtech startups from six Asian countries and design students from Oslo will be joining the hackathon. We hope the Oslo EdTech community wants to join too! Together we will form mixed teams, share ideas, and help each other build innovative projects during 48 hours.

This is a chance to get creative around education technology for small screen, and to get insights to the education challenges in Asia. It’s also an opportunity to learn more about what Telenor is doing in the education space.

The hackathon will take place as a side-event in conjunction with Digital Winners, Telenor’s flagship event for innovation and digital transformation. Digital Winners is an arena where business leaders, entrepreneurs, top intellectuals and tech experts meet to discuss current hot tech topics and business innovation.
